Urban web Designs is a privately held Internet Design company incorporated in the Province of British Columbia.
Founded in 1997, we have been pioneers in the Internet revolution providing award winning design and enabling individuals and businesses to participate in the e-commerce revolution.
Urbanweb was started by two partners
in a one room office on lower Douglas St.
Shortly after incorporation, Urbanweb Design was awarded a
substantial contract with the Insurance Corporation of British
Columbia (ICBC).
In 1998, a third partner joined Urbanweb, bringing
extensive networking skills, allowing expansion into Internet
access.
With the commercialization
the Internet, Urbanweb once again pioneered products and
services to their clients. 1999 saw Urbanweb
develop an ecommerce payment system in partnership with the
Bank of Montreal.
Urbanweb expanded rapidly through 1999, dramatically
increasing their client list, more than doubling offices
space and increasing staff.
In 2000 Urbanweb finally
outgrew the Douglas Street offices and moved to Shoal
Point. The new offices allowed further expansion
and better services for an ever-growing client
list.
Late 2001 we acquired an Internet company almost
doubling an already substantial client list. Urbanweb
also acquired staff members with extensive expertise in Online
promotion.
2002 saw Urbanweb almost double once
again. In response to the changing nature of the
Internet and requests from clients, Urbanweb added video,
animation and sound editing to an extensive list of services.
