Harold Turnham was born in London, England, and emigrated to Canada with his family in 1957.

Mr. Turnham was initially educated in Victoria, obtaining his B.A. at the University of Victoria in 1967, following which he obtained his LLB from the University of British Columbia in 1970.

Having been called to the Bar in 1971, Mr. Turnham joined the law firm then known as Owen-Flood, Cox & Company, and he has practiced with the firm, or successive generations of it, ever since.

Mr. Turnham practices as a barrister. For many years he did a lot of criminal defence work, as well as civil litigation, however, his practice in recent years has been almost exclusively as a civil litigator.

When not working, Mr. Turnham enjoys skiing, tennis, gardening, and travel.





Ross Woodland has been practicing law in Victoria since 1979, primarily as a solicitor engaged in commercial transactions, including all corporate and partnership matters, asset and/or share purchases, rollovers and business refinancing. Additionally, he drafts numerous wills, administers estates and engages in tax and estate planning. Mr. Woodland also has numerous US based clients and handles their legal transactions throughout Canada, as well as their cross border transactions, on a regular basis. Mr. Woodland brings a wealth of experience and expertise to each new matter.

Other professional responsibilities include active participation as a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Victoria Bar Association.

Mr. Woodland has served as a Director of the Board at the former Gorge Road Hospital, Harbourside Victoria Rotary Club, The Victoria Foundation, and the City of Victoria Heritage Advisory Board. He has also served as a Director of the Victoria Golf Club and is currently men's Captain.

Mr. Woodland is an avid golfer, snow skier, mountain biker and fisherman, and admits to being a rudimentary carpenter.





Barney McKinnon qualified as a lawyer in New Zealand in 1979, was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1982, and has been practicing in Victoria ever since. He is primarily a solicitor, but has an interest in Wills and Estate litigation. His main area of practice lies in the field of estate planning and estate administration, with the associated preparation of Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, Wills and Trusts.

Mr. McKinnon has taught many classes in the Business Faculty at Camosun College and has been a frequent speaker at Public Legal Education seminars and professional training courses conducted by the Law Society of British Columbia. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association.

Recreationally, Mr. McKinnon enjoys the outdoors and is a keen fisherman and hunter. He has sailed and played tennis competitively, and has completed a good number of marathons and triathlons, although his athletic endeavours are, these days, limited to jogging and golf.





Alan Milne was born in South Africa and educated in Montreal and Calgary. He first graduated at law from the University of British Columbia in 1976.

Having clerked for the British Columbia Court of Appeal, Mr. Milne went to the London School of Economics on a scholarship granted with a Master of Laws Degree in 1978.

In 1979 he joined the law firm of Owen-Flood, Cox, Turnham, as it then was, and he has been a member of the firm ever since.

Mr. Milne's preferred areas of practice are matrimonial law and estate litigation. He is an accomplished civil litigator.

In his spare time Mr. Milne enjoys sailing, skiing and golf.
